Sure, WiFi works in the Vail Valley, but getting your kids to unplug is easier when it’s their idea

The moment your family sets foot in the Vail Valley, you’ll realize that there is something different about this vacation.  There will be no complaining of being bored and certainly no need for a screen. Instead of being glued to their phones, your kids will be glued to the windows, appreciating the beauty and the solitude that is the Rocky Mountains.

The resorts of Vail and Beaver Creek are just as much designed for children as they are for parents. Year round, the resorts provide endless ways for kids to get the thrill they’ve been craving. Aside from the world class skiing and snowboarding, there is plenty for the whole family to do. At Vail, you and the kids can ride the Mountain Coaster, an alpine roller coaster that rockets 3,400 feet through alpine forest before settling at the mountain’s base. Seeking something a bit tamer? Head to the multi-lane tubing hill or the kids snowmobiling course for some competition. If the kids are looking to explore, there’s Beaver Creek, where they can discover Red Buffalo Park, a section of the mountain dedicated solely to kids. There, they can search for hidden snow sculptures or enjoy a candy fix at the Candy Cabin. In the Village, be sure to hit the Family Funfest Carnival with games and events for the whole family.

But the fun doesn’t end when the snow melts. All summer long, the resorts know how to keep the kids happy. EpicDiscovery at Vail is no such exception, with ziplines, an alpine slide and an adventure course. Beaver Creek’s Summer Adventure Center will make the kids forget what it feels like to be in front of a screen. There, the kids can hit the climbing wall, ropes course, or even pan for gold in the Eagle river. After a day of hiking, exploring, and excitement, the kids will hit their pillows dreaming of the next day’s adventure, and you’ll wonder why it took so long to discover Vail Valley and the excitement that comes with it.
